P1030170Family and friends, including the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosu, the Ogun State Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Leke Adewolu, the Provost and Medical Director of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Dr. Akinwande Akinhanmi, Bashorun Doja Adewolu, and Dr. Taiwo Adamson, today, Friday 22nd April, 2016 were on ground at the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, the venue of the burial ceremony of Chief (Mrs.) Dinah Violet Lambo who passed on Saturday, 19th March, 2016 at the age of 93.

Late Dinah Lambo was born in London, England on 27 January, 1923. She had her education that groomed her to becoming a teacher. She met her late husband, Professor Thomas Adeoye Lambo on 31st December, 1942 and later got married to him in the year 1945.

On the 29th March, 1950, she arrived Nigeria with her late husband who had traveled out of his country to study Medicine in the United Kingdom and since then adopted the country as hers down till her death. P1030180

Upon her arrival in Nigeria, she pursued her interest in teaching which saw her teach at the Holy Child College in Lagos and part-time in Gusau. She was later appointed Principal of the Our Lady of Apostles Secondary Modern School in Abeokuta. In 1964, she became the Principal of the All Saints Church School in Ibadan. She also taught for a while in Geneva, Switzerland when her late husband took up his appointment with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Late Dinah, aside working with her husband on a number of his most inspirational projects like the Aro Village System, also in 1982 co-founded the Lambo Foundation which over the years has promoted health care in Nigeria and beyond.

Her body was laid to rest right beside the grave of her late husband in the premises of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta in Ogun State, South West, Nigeria after a brief service.P1030171

She lived a very rewarding life and had a fruitful marriage.

She was survived by her children, David, Richard and Roger, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
